Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs West Brom

After suffering his second defeat with Liverpool against Newcastle, Jurgen Klopp went to Switzerland to face FC Sion in Liverpool’s last match of the Europa League group stages. The game ended in a 0-0 draw, but it was enough for Liverpool to be the group winners. Jurgen Klopp will be looking to get back to his winning ways this week against West Brom. Few of Liverpool’s players were not taken to Switzerland for their match against Sion and they will be returning as fresh players on Sunday. Here is our predicted Liverpool line-up.

Coutinho Is back
Coutinho Is back

Goalkeeper – Simon Mignolet

Mignolet had a very quiet game on Thursday and he was happy to keep the clean sheet. 2015 is about to end and Mignolet is the premier league keeper with most clean sheets in 2015. He will be looking to end the year with that achievement to his name. Even though he has received a lot of stick from the fans and the public, Jurgen Klopp publicly praised Mignolet and that will be a confidence booster for him.

Defenders – Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno

Nathaniel Clyne played the full 90 ninety minutes for Liverpool on Thursday, but he will be starting against West Brom on Sunday. He was rested for Liverpool capital one fixture against Southampton last week. He won’t be getting much rest at least until Jon Flanagan returns to action for Liverpool. Martin Skrtel is one of those players who did not play for Liverpool on Thursday and he will be fresh to deal with the physicality that West Brom players possess. Dejan Lovren on the other hand, played alongside Kolo Toure against Sion and he had a quiet night. He has improved and he should keep on doing it against West Brom if he wants to keep his place. Alberto Moreno did not travel with the Liverpool squad to Switzerland, instead, he was rested. Brad Smith was given his first start for Liverpool and he put up a very good performance. However, Moreno will return to Liverpool’s starting line-up. We might see Brad Smith come on as a substitute later in the game.

Midfielders – Lucas Leiva, Emre Can, Jordan Henderson, Jordon Ibe, Philippe Coutinho

Lucas Leiva is another player who was rested by Jurgen Klopp against Sion. He has been in great form for Liverpool, but he had a very bad game against Newcastle last week. He will be looking to forget last week’s game and keep his form up. Emre Can is turning out to be a key player for Liverpool. He is a really good central midfielder and he actually is a ‘Tank’. He just needs to be consistent and he can hold down a starting lineup spot for years to come. Jordan Henderson returned to Liverpool’s starting lineup against Sion on Thursday and that is a great boost for Liverpool. His presence is vital for Liverpool. Jordon Ibe was ill and did not travel with the squad to Switzerland, but we expect the youngster to return to Liverpool’s starting eleven against West Brom. Ibe is on top form and he has been one of Liverpool’s best-attacking players lately. The little magician, Philippe Coutinho returned from injury this week and he came on as a substitute against Sion. We can expect Coutinho to pull the strings for Liverpool on Sunday.

Striker – Christian Benteke

The Belgian has not been at his best for Liverpool, but he has got the complete backing of Jurgen Klopp. Klopp has the ability to bring the best in Benteke. And his physicality will be vital for Liverpool against Pulis’s West Brom. Divock Origi could come on as a substitute later in the match.
