Liverpool Player Ratings vs Manchester City

A sheer display of dominance as Liverpool demolish City with a resounding scoreline of 3-0. Klopp’s men showed a lot of confidence and desire keeping behind the heartbreak of Sunday.

Liverpool dominated right from the proceedings in terms of possession and chances created. The team looked in good shape with tremendous work-rate shown across the park. The passes were sticking and the attempts on goal were fabulous.

Adam Lallana opened the scoring with a low drive from outside the box. Milner netted in the second for the Reds before halftime and Firmino delivered the knockout punch for Liverpool. This is how the players fared at the occasion.

 Simon Mignolet – 6/10

The keeper did not have much to do throughout the game thanks to the wonderful defending by Toure and Lovren.

Nathaniel Clyne – 7/10

Played as a left back – not his usual position but showed no signs of discomfort.

Dejan Lovren – 6/10

Partnered very well with Toure at the back and helped the team keep a clean sheet.

Kolo Toure – 7/10

His display is getting better with every game as he was rock solid at the back. Not giving any room to Aguero or Bony.

Jon Flanagan – 6.5/10

Made a start after long but did not show any sign of weakness. Made many crucial interceptions inside the box.

Emre Can – 7/10

Did his bit with the responsibility of a holding midfielder. Kept tracking the runs of Aguero and supported the defenders well.

Jordan Henderson – 7/10

The skipper was very instrumental in keeping the possession for most of the game.

James Milner – 7.5/10

Scored a goal and was at the center of everything. Tremendous work rate throughout.

Roberto Firmino – 7/10

He was criticized a bit for his performances in the last two games. Silenced his critics with a goal and also made an assist.

Adam Lallana – 8/10

Was just brilliant throughout. Scored one, created the other and showed that much-needed charisma in front.

Divock Origi – 6.5/10

Had one shot on goal but could not get his name on the scoreboard.

Substitutes

Christian Benteke – 6/10

Came on to replace Origi in the second half. Couldn’t do much with the ball.

Jordan Ibe – 6.5/10

Was introduced late in the game. Made a few runs in the wings.

Joe Allen – 7/10

Had a cracking effort at goal which almost kissed the nets.
