With each day passing by, more and more players are getting linked to the reds for a move in the summer. Each day papers provide a different name and some might seem that may have some truth to it while some are just plain nonsense. This is the most important transfer period in Liverpool’s recent years because of the competition and the ‘Super Managers’ that are going to go head to head in the league next campaign.

The name that is being rumored to join the club is a very familiar name and had been at the club for eight long years and another year on loan at another club, Pepe Reina. The 33 year old is set to make a sensational return to Anfield where he was a fan favourite at the beginning of his Liverpool career and Reina has himself stated that he never wanted to leave the club, but it was the manager that no longer wanted the services of him.

But it will be a complex situation as the reds recently signed Loris Karius who is set to be the no.1 keeper for Klopp’s men in the next campaign. That means Simon Mignolet, who signed a new five year deal in January will be sold to make way for Pepe Reina. It makes sense though, as Mignolet, just 28, still has a long career ahead of him and can restart his life at a new club. Whereas, Reina will turn 34 in August and has been an understudy for Bayern Munich and the Spain national team.

Liverpool lack leaders at the moment since Steven Gerrard left the club and with senior players like Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure all set to leave the club, Pepe Reina call fill the void left by the their departures. Also, the Spaniard knows the club inside out and loved the city of Liverpool. Reina is a true red and he has proved his love for the Club since leaving on social media many times. He holds the record for the least number of goals conceded in his first 50 games for the reds and also is the keeper with the most number of clean sheets for the club.

Karius can learn a lot from him and can unlock the huge potential that is in him. This move is a win-win situation for all as Klopp will get a senior figure at the club who knows what this club stands for, Mignolet can kick-start his career again at a new club and also Loris Karius can become the solution for the red’s Achilles heel.
