It is very much obvious that Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is currently scouting the players and soon he will add some more names in the squad to challenge for the top honours. The German gaffer has already started working on the Anfield project and many supporters believe that he would take the side where they belong.

He has already completed 2 major signings for the club and is looking forward to add more. But besides signing, he has already released number for players, including the veteran defender Kolo Toure. Now it seems like the German gaffer is ready to offload another star from the squad.

In recent weeks, Martin Skrtel has been chased by a number of clubs including AS Roma, Fenerbahce and Inter Milan. The Slovakian has made more than 300 appearances for the Reds during his 9 years of tenure, and it seems like this is the end for the 31-year-old.

With Skrtel gone, the side will need a player, who could succeed the Slovakian at Anfield, so here we give you 3 replacements for Martin Skrtel at Liverpool:

    1. Mateo Musacchio-

The 25-year-old Argentine currently plays for the Spanish side Villarreal. Musacchio started his career with the Argentine side River Plate before moving to Valencia in 2009. Musacchio had a limited time at Villarreal last season as he played 13 games for the side. The 25-year-old Argentine is an all-round defender, who loves to engage himself in the physical battles.

Well, he missed many games due to his injury issues. He suffered a massive lower-leg damage, dislocating his ankle and fracturing his fibula in 2014-15 season, and therefore, he was ruled out for six months. But the defender came back stronger, and Liverpool can actually consider him as a replacement for Skrtel.

    1. Micah Richards-

The 28-year-old English defender might be tempted to move away from the Villa Park after his side faced relegation last season. Richards has a great experience of playing in the Premier League and can also be deployed as a right back and this could serve as an advantage for the German manager. The Englishman started his career with Manchester City before moving to Fiorentina in 2014, and then came back to England in the following season as he agreed a four-year contract with Villa.

Richards made 24 appearances for the side and won 66% of his duels in the entire campaign. The Englishman is still capable of delivering a quality performance and buying him might be a good option for the German.

    1. Neven Subotic-

Buying this 27-year-old will be nothing more than a gamble as he has become an injury prone player these days. But at one point of his career, he formed a lethal partnership with Mats Hummels at Borussia Dortmund and was targeted by many top clubs. He is currently struggling to find a first team spot in Dortmund’s squad and he might join his former manager Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool if a good offer is placed.

The Serbian international made just 6 appearances for the Yellow wall last year and has become a frustrated figure due to the lack of playing time. He might not be the strongest of all, but can be considered as an option.
