With the announcement of Sadio Mane, Liverpool now have completed their fourth signing under Jurgen Klopp and also their third of the summer. There is still a long way to go in the transfer window and Klopp will not be stopping with this. More incomings are expected at Anfield this summer. Reputed Liverpool journalists have confirmed Klopp’s next priorities to be a Central Midfielder and also a Full Back. The full back position is something that has concerned the Liverpool fans for sometime now. Last season the Reds signed Nathaniel Clyne and that solved the Right Back problems, but still they need reinforcements in the Left Back spot and also a back up Right Back. Alberto Moreno’s poor performances last season has forced the club to look for a new Left Back. Among the hundreds of rumours going around, one that has been noticeable is Mattia De Sciglio to Liverpool. It looks like the 23 year old has emerged as a transfer target of Liverpool. Can De Sciglio become the solution for Liverpool’s full back problems?

Mattia De Sciglio currently plays for Italian outfits, AC Milan. The 23 year old made his senior team debut for AC Milan at the age of 18 in 2011. The Italian came through the ranks at AC Milan and now has made 85 League appearances for the club. Including all competitions, he has made 104 appearances for the club. Last year he was made to captain the side to mark his 100th appearance in a 2-0 lose to Sassuolo.
De Sciglio made his senior team debut for the Italian National team on 21st March 2013, in a match against Brazil that ended in a 2-2 draw. He then went on to make 25 appearances for his country. Now he is with the Italian squad at the Euros after Antonio Conte named him in his 23 man squad in May.

The AC Milan man hasn’t scored a senior level goal both for Club and Country. Despite the fact that he hasn’t scored a senior level goal, he is a typical Italian defender who keeps to his position and does his job well. De Sciglio plays usually as Right Back, but is also comfortable with the Left Back position.

The right footed full back is quiet pacey which makes him eligible to become a ‘Klopp player’. He is good at man marking and tackling which is essential for a full back. The Rossoneri player can also pick some passes and is also good at crossing. He does not have any particular weaknesses nor does he have any specialities, but he can get the job done at the full back position. His promising displays have led pundits and football fans to compare him to Italian legend, Paolo Maldini, and also former Milan full back, Mauro Tassotti.

With De Sciglio in the side, Liverpool defenders will no longer face the threat of being exposed. The young Italian is a trustable player and might be exactly what Liverpool need at the moment.
De Sciglio is currently rated at 5 Million and will be a big bargain for Liverpool. The Azzuri youngster was once targeted by big guns of Europe, but the fall of AC Milan also derailed his progression. He is looking for a ‘new beginning’ and Liverpool might be the answer.

Yes, he might not be a world beater but can prove to be a big bargain for Liverpool. He can be the perfect back up for Nathaniel Clyne and also can compete with Alberto Moreno for the Left Back spot. De Sciglio can also regain his progression momentum under Jurgen Klopp. With that being said, De Sciglio could be the answer for Liverpool’s full back problems.
