The transfer window has officially started and the social media is flooded with the news of the new arrivals at the clubs. The next season in the Premier League is going to be a one of the biggest show on the planet as the managers like Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola, Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp will be going head to head with each other.

Out of all those managers, it is Jurgen Klopp who has completed most number of transfers. He will be welcoming Marko Grujic, who he signed back in January 2016, besides him, Joel Matip, Loris Karius and Sadio Mane have also arrived at the Anfield. It is sure that Jurgen Klopp has assigned himself a task, a task to bring Liverpool back on track. With 3 signings already done, it is expected that the manager, will be looking for more, but to add more faces, he needs to make room.

Now, it is recently reported that Liverpool’s out of favour striker Christian Benteke is on the verge of leaving Anfield after a disappointing campaign with the Reds. According to the Mirror, the Belgian international is keen on playing a regular football and the fellow English side Crystal Palace are the shocking contenders to sign the striker.

The second most expensive signing for the Reds (£32.5million from Aston Villa) arrived at the Anfield last summer and was expected to fill the huge void left by the Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez. Crystal Palace, who somehow managed to avoid relegation last year have recently sold their star man Dwight Gayle to Newcastle United, and therefore, signing Benteke does make sense. Now, it is also rumoured that even Chelsea are also in the chase to sign the striker, but if Benteke wants a first team football, then Chelsea is surely not the place for him.

The problem lies here is the fee that Liverpool are demanding. The Mirror has reported that Liverpool are looking to recoup the amount they paid for Benteke and are demanding a minimum bid of around £30m. Paying that much of money is surely a big thing for Crystal Palace, but the signing might bring a good luck for the Eagles. Alan Pardew has recently concluded the speculation of Andros Townsend as the Englishman has joined the Eagles this morning from Newcastle United.

At Selhurst Park, Beneteke might get the same role he played for Aston Villa. The Belgian international is a traditional target man, who is also an ever present personnel in the box. Unlike the modern strikers, who loves to beat the defenders with pace and trickery, Benteke does his job by providing the end product with the help of others. At Liverpool, he has Coutinho, Lallana and Firmino, who believes in cutting right inside the box with their pace, and that was the main reason Benteke suffered.

At the Selhurst Park, he will be supported by Townsend, who is considered as a traditional winger and loves to deliver some excellent crosses in the box, and that’s where Benteke will show his magic. The towering Belgian has a muscular built, and besides that, his aerial abilities are wonderful through which, the Eagles would benefit a lot.
