Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was brought to the club to turn things around and the German has achieved that and by some good measure as well. The Reds are currently fourth in the Premier League table, just a couple of points behind leaders Manchester City.

The German manager was close to winning a couple of titles last season but fell short in both finals. This season, the Reds seem to be better placed and have been touted as one of the favourites for the Premier League, something Liverpool have never won.

Jurgen Klopp also seems to be thinking the Reds can actually win the title but did not go all the way into admitting they will.

Klopp was asked what he would like to be celebrating after a year and the German was quoted by Football365 as saying:

“To talk about a wonderful final which we’ve won. To talk about a few great, great games which we’ve won.

“I cannot say the one thing that I wish would happen but if I say it, everybody goes nuts.”

We all know what Klopp is alluding to and this does seem to be the best chance Liverpool will have of winning the Premier League. It isn’t just that the Reds are playing good football but there is a belief in the side.

The Merseyside club have already defeated Arsenal and Chelsea away from home and next face Manchester United, in what will be a great battle of managers. The Reds are also the joint top scorers in the league and are going great guns in the EFL Cup as well.

The Reds do have one aspect in their favour and that is the fact they do not have any European football to deal with. Travelling back and forth in the Champions League or Europa League does take a massive toll, especially in the high-pressing game that Klopp deploys at Liverpool.

A gap too far for the Reds to cross

While Klopp isn’t stating much about Liverpool’s chances of winning the league title, there still are a number of issues that the Reds have to look into. The biggest is the issue with the defence, the Reds have not kept a clean sheet all season in the Premier League.

Their goalkeeping issues are well documented as well. Even Loris Karius does not look ready for Primer League duty and we all know how great Simon Mignolet is between the sticks (sarcasm intended).

What Liverpool fans can look forward to is another great cup run and maybe silverware from the FA or EFL Cup come the end of the season. Winning the Premier League will be too big of a task for the side at the moment but a top four finish is certainly within reach if they play like this.

Any Liverpool fan would take this at this moment but with the way they have been dominating sides, there could be a lot more in store for the German’s side.
