Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently stated that the Reds will be looking to add to their squad due to the loss of players during the African Cup of Nations. Sadio Mane has been one of the best signings from this season and his loss will certainly hurt the Merseyside club’s attack.

One player who has been constantly linked with a move to the Premier League, especially at Liverpool, is American sensation Christian Pulisic. The 18-year-old has been brilliant this season for Borussia Dortmund and even though the Reds had tabled a bid of around £14 million for the attacker in the summer, they will return with an improved bid in the winter.

Reports from the Mirror claims that Pulisic could be on the move from Dortmund this January. Liverpool might want to think twice before spending too much amount of money on a teenager, as he won’t come cheap, but the American is one of the hottest properties in world football.

A perfect player for Klopp’s team

Pulisic isn’t just known for his attacking ability but he can play across the forward line as well. The teenager is also a hard worker and he would certainly fit in well at the Merseyside club. Dortmund for their part would not want to lose out on one of their stars, especially to a former manager who has turned things around at Liverpool.

The Reds are on fire at the moment and are one of the favourites for the Premier League title this season. The lack of European football and an incredible attack has seen Liverpool storm to the top of the league standings and there are many who believe this season could be the one for the Reds.

It wasn’t just Liverpool who wanted the services of the American with Red Bull Leipzig and Stoke City also interested. The Reds do need to bring in more talent due to the injury to Danny Ings, which will keep him out of the team till next season.

Pulisic has also played in England during his formative years as he spent a season at Brackley Town. He even stated that his love for the game grew during his time playing in England. That does give Liverpool a better chance of signing Pulisic but it would be tough to pry him away from Dortmund at the moment.

Should the season continue in this way and Liverpool do pick up a trophy, Pulisic could be tempted to join the Reds next season.
