Dahoud

Liverpool’s plans to bring German youngster Mahmoud Dahoud to the Premier League could be in serious jeopardy. The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder has been a target for many clubs and Juventus are reported to be in the running to sign him as well.

The reason why the 20-year-old would not be moving out of Germany lies with Borussia Dortmund. Thomas Tuchel’s side seem to be interested in signing Dahoud and could use another player in their deal to sign the £26m rated star.

The Daily Star believes that Monchengladbach could be tempted to sell their star to Dortmund as the Yellow and blacks are ready to send in a bid of Sahin + £12.8million, which could be a tough deal to reject.

Sahin did have a brilliant stint in his first few years at Dortmund and was sold to Real Madrid, where he had a tough time. He did spend a season on loan at Liverpool, where he struggled under Brendan Rodgers and was sent back to Dortmund. The 28-year-old was one of the best players in the Bundesliga at one time and maybe a shift away from Dortmund would certainly help him out.

Old ties remain between Monchengladbach and Dortmund

This would not be the first time a bid deal takes place between the two clubs. A few years ago, Marco Reus was sold to Dortmund from Monchengladbach and we all know how that turned out for Dortmund as they went on to win a couple of Bundesliga titles.

This also is not good news for Liverpool as Dahoud could decide to remain in Germany and play for one of the top teams in the land rather than move away to a new country and play under a relatively new manager in the Premier League.

Juventus too could be a big move for the youngsters and playing for the Old Lady would ensure they he would pick up a Serie A title sooner or later. The move though seems to be a little weird since Juventus are known to buy either really cheap players or free agents, something that has worked a treat for the defending Serie A champions.

Liverpool’s manager has stated that the Reds need to sign someone in the winter window and that would be for the attack and not the midfield. The Merseyside club will lose out on the services of Sadio Mane due to the African Cup of Nations and that should be the major transfer for the Reds and nothing else.
