Dahoud

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Mahmoud Dahoud since the end of last season. The Syria-born midfielder has been a star for Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga and even there have been many rumours stating that he is one of the prime targets for the German manager at the Premier League club.

The Reds, however, are not the only club that has targeted the 20-year-old with Serie A giants Juventus also interested, according to Tuttosport. The Italian champions have a history of making a few shrewd signings, such as Carlos Tevez, Sami Khedira and even Andrea Pirlo and Dahoud could be another midfielder who joins the Old Lady.

The midfielder’s contract ends after the 2017-18 season and the impasse regarding his future at the Bundesliga club could work in favour for either of the clubs. Another aspect that should work in the favour of the Merseyside club is that Emre Can and Dahoud share the same agent.

Jurgen Klopp is also a big draw and that could be enough to seal the deal when it comes to Dahoud. Liverpool do need a holding midfielder and Dahoud would be a great signing for them. The 20-year-old certainly was one of the best players last season and this year he has gotten one goal so far in the Bundesliga.

Good news coming in the way for Liverpool

While the future of Dahoud still is up in the air, there is another player who seems to be staying at Liverpool for the foreseeable future.

Adam Lallana has been on fire this season and recently was back in the first team as he got a few minutes in the 4-3 loss at Bournemouth. The Englishman was out after the last international break and even though the Reds lost, Lallana should be back to his best at the weekend against West Ham United.

Lallana was one of the players expected to leave the club at the start of the season but Klopp has turned the attacker’s career around at Anfield.

Even Paris-Saint Germain have been linked with a bid for the 28-year-old England international but the former Southampton man has clarified that he is not going anywhere at the moment.

“I love it here at the minute, especially since the manager has come in,” Lallana told Sky Sports.

“We have each other’s trust and you don’t always get that at clubs. The thought of leaving Liverpool has never entered my mind.

“It’s a great compliment to be spoken of in the same breath as a club like PSG with those sorts of numbers.

“But I’m absolutely loving my football at the minute under this boss and I can only see myself being here for the long term.”

Liverpool will need the attacking prowess of Lallana as they head into the busy Christmas schedule. They are without Philippe Coutinho until January and the former Southampton man will have to be at his best if the Reds are to stay close to the top of the league table.
