Liverpool Plot A £10 million Bid For This Premier League Left-Back

Liverpool have not had a proper left-back this season after shifting James Milner to the position. Alberto Moreno hasn’t been able to make it back to the starting XI and the Reds have been linked with a number of players to fill up this gap.

From Jonas Hector to Sead Kolasinac, the Reds seem to be in the market for almost every half-decent player out there and there is another rumour spreading that suggests the Premier League side is after a player from the same league.

Fans might find it a little hard to believe that the Reds are linked with a move for Andrew Robertson of Hull City. The Scottish international was a target for Klopp, according to the papers, in the summer as well but it did not work out back then.

£10 million enough to bring Robertson to Anfield

The Daily Star also believes the Reds can sign the 22-year-old defender with a fee of £10million paid to the Tigers. Jurgen Klopp seems to be really pleased with the performance of the defender, though it seems to be a little hard to believe, given the Tigers are in the relegation zone.

Primarily a left-back Robertson can also play in the centre of the defence and also as a left-midfielder but Klopp would be looking to sign him up for his defensive abilities.

Robertson has already made 13 Premier League appearances for the Tigers this season and it will be a bit of a surprise should Klopp sign him up. There were also reports from the Mirror stating that the Reds have targeted Jordan Amavi of Aston Villa, a club that currently plays in the Championship.

These rumours certainly won’t be helping allay the fears of the defence not being good for the Reds. Liverpool have conceded a great number of goals this season and playing Milner in the left-back position is not the solution to solve their problems.

This rumour does seem to be a little hard to digest and the Reds will have to look elsewhere. Klopp already has a plan to ensure the Reds don’t spend ludicrous money on players who are not up to the Liverpool standard and we won’t be surprised to see him sign someone from the Bundesliga.

Klopp has previously admitted that he is open to bringing new players, should he see the quality in them,

“I think I have said one or two times, if there is something for us that makes sense and is possible, because there are other clubs, then it’s what we always do,” he said.

“I can say we don’t want to convince players with money.

“We want to have players ready to develop.

“If there’s something for us that makes sense and is possible, but we don’t want to convince players with money.

“We have already very good players, and if somebody wants to be a part of this team then they’re very welcome.”

The Reds have been good with their recent transfers and it will certainly be interesting to see who Klopp has lined up as a left-back. Joel Matip, Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane have been great this season and if the Reds do bring in a quality left-back, the season could have a great ending for the Merseyside club.
