Liverpool have been linked with a number of attacking players of late. Stars such as Quincy Promes, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Christian Pulisic have all been on the radar for Jurgen Klopp but it seems another attacker could be on his way to Anfield.

Jese Rodriguez has been linked with a move to Liverpool, amongst many other clubs. The 23-year-old had just moved to Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the season after winning nearly everything with Real Madrid but Las Palmas president, Angel Ramirez, claims that the Spanish attacker can leave the French club.

The Daily Mail reports that Las Palmas wants to sign him but cannot afford the striker.

“Jese Rodriguez is a great footballer, he wants to come to Las Palmas, but he is owned by PSG and earns a salary that is of his level – and that is very high.

“Liverpool, Milan and Roma want Jese and are ready to pay what he earns. We cannot afford that salary.”

The attacker has only made nine appearances in the league this season for the Paris club and has only scored one goal in Ligue 1.

Jese had moved to PSG for more playing time but that has not taken place so far. The Spaniard is a gritty player and is a decent option to have in any side. He can play out wide but his preferred position is down the middle and getting him on loan could be a possible signing for Klopp.

The German isn’t someone who uses the loan system all that much and only looks to sign players when it is critical but adding someone like Jese could be the right option as the Reds look to continue their charge for the Premier League title.

The Merseyside club will not have the likes of Sadio Mane for six weeks as he would be playing in the African Cup of Nations and Klopp does need to have quality in his attack. The Reds are the highest scorers in the Premier League but injuries to the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana or even Divock Origi could derail their title bid.

In fact, Coutinho is nursing an injury and is close to full fitness and is not expected to play in the game against Manchester City. Daniel Sturridge has only recently come back into the first team and even scored a goal in the 4-1 win over Stoke City.

This could be a great signing for the Reds and could be the difference between a top four finish and a title.
