Liverpool are looking at signing another promising youngster according to the Daily Mail. The report claims that the Merseyside club wants to sign highly rated 19-year-old Leon Bailey, but the Genk forward is also on the wanted list of a number of other clubs and the Reds could get involved in a bidding battle to sign him up.

Bailey is one of Europe’s hottest properties and Roma and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in bringing the forward to their respective clubs. The pair is willing to fork out £20million for Bailey in the winter window.

The youngster was expected to leave the Belgian club at the end of the current season but the chase for his signature certainly seems to be heating up. The report also claims that Ligue 1 club Lyon and Nice are tracking the talented forward and could be looking to sign him up as well.

From the Premier League Chelsea, Everton and Bournemouth have also stated their interest in signing the 19-year-old but it was expected that they would wait for the end of the season before making a bid but the work of some of the other clubs could accelerate their decision into bringing the youngster in.

The Belgian club doesn’t want to lose out on their star on the cheap and would be looking to keep him at the club for as long as possible. If any club is to sign him, they would probably have to loan him back so that he can continue his growth.

Bailey does have eight goals in the domestic league and cup competitions since 2015 when he started playing for the senior Genk side but that will not be enough when it comes to the other clubs wanting to sign him.

Bailey has a long way to go ahead of him and it shouldn’t be surprising that Liverpool are linked with a move for the youngsters. The club have a number of brilliant young stars coming through and Bailey could be another one to join their ranks.

The Reds have also given a number of opportunities for the young players to showcase their ability on the pitch. Klopp does believe in a good youth policy and the likes of Ben Woodburn, Ovie Ejaria and Sheyi Ojo are just some of the academy players who have stood out this season.

Bailey might be another one to move to Liverpool but he could end up moving to almost any other club at the moment.
