Liverpool are back in action this weekend and will face Sean Dyche’s Burnley at Anfield.

The Reds thrashed Arsenal last weekend by a 3-1 margin and will be high on confidence going into this game.

Burnley have been a really difficult team to beat this season and hence Liverpool will have to be on top of their game to defeat the Clarets. The last time the two teams faced each other, Burnley beat Liverpool 2-0 at Turf Moor. Burnley have been exceptional at their home ground and the defeat of Liverpool doesn’t look like a surprise at all.

Dejan Lovren returned from his injury last weekend but the Croatian did not play against the Gunners. He had missed 4 games before that and was named on the bench against Arsenal. Captain Jordan Henderson and striker Daniel Sturridge still remain doubtful after having missed the last two games for the Reds.

Predicted Liverpool XI to Face Burnley

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK)

Mignolet has shown that he can be a better player than he was last season and is beginning to look like he is earning the manager’s trust.

Nathaniel Clyne (RB)

Clyne is an absolute certainty in the Liverpool line-up and the solidity he offers on the field is irreplaceable at the moment.

Joel Matip (CB)

Matip has managed to establish himself as one of the most important players for Liverpool this season and he should start against Burnley as well.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

Lovren is back fit and he might replace Klavan in the Liverpool line-up. He is a calm influence at the back and is essential for Klopp’s team.

James Milner (LB)

James Milner is probably one of the most versatile players in world football and it isn’t really surprising to see him prospering as a left-back. He has displaced Alberto Moreno and things should remain the same this weekend.

Emre Can (CM)

With captain Jordan Henderson still doubtful, expect the German international to hold on to his place after an impressive display against Arsenal.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

Wijnaldum has been in dream form of late and he capped it off with a fine performance against Arsenal. He scored against them and is enjoying his football at the moment.

Adam Lallana (CM)

Lallana has been one of the best players for Liverpool this season and is a joy to watch when he is on the pitch. He will complete the midfield trio along with Can and Wijnaldum.

Sadio Mane (RW)

Mane is undoubtedly the best player for the Reds this season and dropping him is almost impossible. The highest goal getter for Klopp is a certain starter.

Roberto Firmino (CF)

The Brazilian scored against the Gunners after going on a barren run of four games without scoring. Chances are high that he may pick up form once again, now that he has got his goal scoring touch back.

Philippe Coutinho (LW)

Coutinho started off the season quite brilliantly and was looking unstoppable back then. However, ever since he returned from his injury, he hasn’t been the same threat that he was before getting injured. The quality player that he is, he is still a dangerous presence on the pitch and can influence the game even on his worst game day.
