Liverpool fans could be receiving some good news when it comes to the team that is set to face Crystal Palace in the weekend. The Reds could see the return of Adam Lallana ahead of schedule and the Englishman could continue to play a huge role in the club’s quest for a top four finish come the end of the season.

It was initially confirmed by Jurgen Klopp, who told the Liverpool Echo that Lallana will be available only after the Palace game, but his return delivers a timely injury boost for the Reds.

The 28-year-old had picked up an injury in the last international break and didn’t play for the Reds since. Although the Merseyside club haven’t lost a game in the last four matches, Lallana would provide the team with a lot of creativity and attacking flair.

There were fears that the former Southampton man would be out of action for far longer but Lallana did share a picture of himself lacing up before heading out onto the pitch for a training session.

Time to step it up

Liverpool are already without Sadio Mane, who is ruled out for the season after picking up an injury against Everton. The lack of the attacking duo has seen the Reds struggle for convincing performances but the wins against Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion should give them some confidence heading into the battle against the Eagles.

Palace have been on a great run of form themselves as they defeated Chelsea and Arsenal in recent weeks and fears that they might get relegated seem to be easing off under Sam Allardyce.

The Eagles would be looking to spoil the party for Liverpool as they look to inflict another surprise defeat to the Merseyside club in a rather inconsistent season.

Lallana, for his part, has been extremely consistent and has notched up seven goals in the Premier League along with seven assists in all competitions. With Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino also looking to be in decent form, Lallana will certainly have to chip in, should he be fit for the game against Palace.

Jurgen Klopp knows that the top four is in the club’s hands and they have to keep on winning. The big question is if he will be playing a half-fit Lallana or wait till he is completely fit before putting him on the pitch.
