Social media is a dangerous place to be, especially when it comes to accepting pictures about players wearing or posing with football jerseys. We remember the Stewart Downing incident where he was spotted with a Liverpool jersey before he signed with the club and a similar story is taking place with Mohamed Salah. This time around we have a picture of Salah standing with a couple of Egyptian Liverpool fans who are holding our jerseys.

The AS Roma winger is currently preparing with his national team for a match against African rivals Tunisia on Saturday and this was the perfect time for the two fans to pose with the Liverpool target.

Ahmed Essam shared the picture on the networking site Instagram with another Liverpool fan and Salah. The pair of fans are the ones holding the Liverpool shirts.
Essam’s picture also has the following tag: “Welcome to @liverpoolfc @mosalah22 #YNWA #LFC #SalahLFC”.

One step closer to Liverpool

While the image would not be enough to ensure Salah has become a Liverpool player, the deal should go through should we be willing to meet Roma’s valuation of the winger at £40 million.
We do need a pacey winger that can play alongside Sadio Mane and with Salah’s experience of the Premier League, however, limited it may be, he does have a point to prove to former employers Chelsea.

Hopefully, the deal should not take too long to complete as the club and the player have negotiated personal terms, the only hindrance lies with Roma’s price for their star player from last season.

Klopp and the board certainly seem to be going all out to sign their targets pretty quickly which ensures they have ample time to gel with the squad ahead of a new season that promises much should we end up signing the right players.
