Salah is a liverpool player

This news should excite many of the fans out there. The Mohamed Salah saga has been going on for quite a while now and it finally seems to be coming to an end as reports have emerged claiming that a £39million deal is close to being completed. (Telegraph)

It is being rumoured that we will break our transfer record once again after the Salah deal is completed; not once, but twice! Yes, you read that right! Reports have emerged claiming that we’d spend more than £150m this summer. Boss Jurgen Klopp has been consistent in his desire to bring in at least 4 key signings for big money this summer, with several other less high-profile captures to round off his squad. According to the Mirror, Liverpool will continue to spend big money even after Salah’s arrival.

It sounds quite logical to me as we do have a number of areas in our squad where we have to strengthen. The central midfield and the central defence are the areas that need some massive strengthening. Although there is enough flair in our midfield, the lack of steel is something that needs to be addressed.

The strengthening at the back is much more important as we conceded goals against our will. Klopp has developed Liverpool into a brilliant attacking unit but defensively, reinforcements are needed. We are in dire need of a central defender and a left-back.

We somehow managed to play the season with James Milner as left-back but that is not the long-term solution, to be honest. We need a natural left-back for sure.

So it is understandable that the report claims we will spend more money. On the whole, we need a striker, a central midfielder, a central defender and a left-back. Now that looks like some shopping to do before the window ends. The report says that our spending would cross £150m in total. With £39m already spent on Salah, if we are going to buy 4 more players with the remaining £111m available, then let’s pray that our Scouts do a good job and find someone like a Rob Holding maybe.
