The Reds’ Twitter account posted a video of one of Suarez’s greatest Liverpool goals this morning, to leave supporters begging for the Uruguayan’s return.

The goal in question was the Barcelona forward’s wonder strike against Sunderland in the 2010/11 season. Suarez beat two players, before smashing the ball into the back of the net from a tight angle. The goal made it onto a shortlist of the best strikes that campaign.

Liverpool tagged Suarez in the tweet, writing: “Step up, @LuisSuarez9. He joins this #GreatestLFCPLGoal shortlist, but does his goal here make the cut?”

The tweet’s replies were then inevitably flooded with Reds supporters begging for Suarez to return to the club. However, the chances of such a transfer happening are highly unlikely. Suarez is looking to be at Barcelona for the long term and if he did decide to leave, Liverpool would struggle to compete with the richest clubs in Europe for his signature.

The Liverpool fans know this really, but they can always dream! In fact, Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking strong attacking wise, right now. Sadio Mane was a revelation last season, after joining from feeder club Southampton.

While Divock Origi is growing into a Liverpool player, Daniel Sturridge still has the qualities to worry any defence, and Danny Ings will soon recover from his serious knee injury. What’s more? The club have made positive additions this summer, signing young English striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and Roma winger Mohamed Salah.

The boys have made a return to European football next season. We will have to face a Champions League qualifier first, to make it into Europe’s premier club competition. If we fail to do so, then we will drop into the Europa League. That would be a serious setback and we cannot afford to let it happen.
