Even though Liverpool have been able to keep Philippe Coutinho at Anfield after a tough summer of negotiations, it seems like they might lose their star midfielder in the January window.

Spanish outlet Sport claims that the Brazilian still wants a move to the Catalan giants and even we are reconsidering letting him leave, in the winter window. The report from the Spanish publication also claims that Coutinho’s representatives met with FSG in Boston as they look to seal a deal for the Brazilian.

Coutinho, as we all know, threw a massive fit in the summer as he wanted to join the La Liga side and even submitted a transfer request. The 25-year-old didn’t see eye to eye with our board and even with Barcelona offering a staggering amount, we kept hold of him.

He has been slowly reintegrated into the side and put in his best performance of the season with a goal and an assist in the 3-2 win over Leicester City. There could be a major talking point in the winter window if Coutinho is to leave as he already played for us in the Champions League.

The Brazilian played a role in the 2-2 draw against Sevilla at Anfield and should make his first start in the competition as we play in Moscow against Spartak.

What is surprising in the report from Sport are the suggestions that we are willing to let go of Coutinho given that we have seen our title aspirations go down the drain after just six games.

The Spanish Publications Doing It Again

We all remember how almost every publication claimed that Liverpool had agreed on a deal to sell Coutinho to Barcelona but none of it was remotely true.

This is possibly another Barcelona PR stunt to ensure Coutinho’s move is all but secured in the summer as we are looking at various replacements.

We already have signed Naby Keita and he could be the replacement for the £150,000-a-week earner, or we could spend the massive amount that Barcelona pay us, and get a like for like replacement for the Brazilian.
