One of Liverpool’s targets since Jurgen Klopp took over, could become the latest player to move to Real Madrid. Christian Pulisic has been linked with a move to Anfield for a couple of years now but reports in Spain (h/t the Liverpool Echo) claim that Madrid see him as a star for the future.

The report also adds that the La Liga giants wanted to sign Ousmane Dembele but the French youngster ended up signing for Barcelona for a mammoth fee, which was, in part, due to Neymar moving to Paris Saint-Germain.

Pulisic, for his part, has been exceptional for the Bundesliga leaders and already has 3 goals to his name. The American attacker scored just 5 times last campaign but seems to be finding his groove under new manager Peter Bosz.

Dortmund have always stated that the 19-year-old is not for sale but it would be tough to say no to the crazy money that Real might pay to sign the player up. The American could be seen as a replacement for either Cristiano Ronaldo or even Gareth Bale, as they both seem to be on the wane now. With a couple of years under the duo, Pulisic could become one of the best in the world.

Disappointing News For Liverpool

This would certainly come as a blow for us as we have been leading the chase for the American for a while. However, we do have our own talents at the moment. Our signing of Mohamed Salah seems to have worked a treat as he has already scored 6 times for us this season and it only seems like he’ll get better.

We also have Sadio Mane, who is firing on all cylinders, and Philippe Coutinho seems to be getting his groove back. Pulisic would have been a great signing for us nevertheless and maybe Klopp can use some more of his Bundesliga and Dortmund charm in trying to get the 19-year-old across to England.

At least Pulisic knows the conditions in England, having played here for a year before his Dortmund days, and under Klopp, who knows how well the American will turn out to be as an attacker?
