There were a number of fans who were confused when Jurgen Klopp decided to splash the cash and sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on deadline day. The Englishman had stagnated a bit at Arsenal but what most of us wanted was a central defender or even a midfielder, and buying another attacker didn’t really make a lot of sense.

The former Arsenal man had a rough start to his career at Liverpool but he has picked up in recent games and did provide a couple of quality performances in the games against Chelsea and more recently, Stoke.

There have been glimpses of just what he can do and the Ox was speaking to the Liverpool site about his first few months at the club and what the boss wants from him when he is brought on.

“If I’m coming off the bench he tells me my role first, he’ll say: ‘Make sure you help Alberto out and get back here and when we attack you’re an attacker, and when we defend you’re a proper midfielder,’

“I’ll say ‘yeah, no problem’. Then just before I go on he’ll tap me and go: ‘By the way, maybe it’s a good idea to shoot and score!’”

The 24-year-old already has a couple of goals for us this season and he also added that it is fun to play for a manager that allows you to express yourself on the pitch.

He did add that, scoring goals and providing assists is his job, and that he is slowly getting up to speed in playing the Liverpool way. The Ox had a lot of praise for Klopp, his training methods and outlook on the game, and further went on to say that he is loving his time at Anfield.

“Yeah, definitely. I’m loving being at the club, playing for the manager and playing for the fans and playing for the boys.”

There were a number of fans too who had their say about the Ox and here are some of the best reactions from Twitter.

Alberto Moreno

Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno has just one start to his name this season and that came in the 2-1 loss against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup at Anfield.

The game will be remembered for an Eden Hazard wonder goal, where the Spaniard was taken to the cleaners by the Belgian.

Moreno has found it tough to reclaim his starting spot in the Liverpool team, with Andy Robertson putting in a number of great performances. The newly appointed Scottish captain is possibly the best left-back in the league and was with the national side during the international break.

The Spaniard was training with the other members of the squad at Melwood and a brilliant video of his was shared. Moreno can be seen doing a couple of quality flicks during training and that got a number of fans interested.
