Liverpool were back to Melwood training ground on Tuesday afternoon to step up their preparations for the weekend clash against West Ham United in the Premier League. After trouncing FC Porto 5-0 in the first leg of Champions League round of 16, the Reds travelled to Marbella, Spain for warm-weather training sessions.

Jurgen Klopp and his squad looked in fantastic shape in Marbella as they all enjoyed the much-needed break in midst of the hectic schedule. And following a successful four-day training camp, the Reds returned to their base ahead of their Premier League meeting with the Hammers.

It was great to see Nathaniel Clyne back in action at Melwood on Tuesday. The defender has not featured for Liverpool all season after picking up a back injury.

Clyne, who was named in Liverpool’s Champions League squad for the knockout stages, is back in training with the boys which comes as a huge boost for Klopp.

Speaking about the right-back’s return to training in Marbella last week, Klopp said:

“Clyney is back. Of course, it is absolutely too early to think about [playing] him, but he is back in normal training, so that’s cool. He’s been training for two days but after that long of a break, it will take time until he is able to play.”

Liverpool’s top-scorer Mohamed Salah was seen beaming in the sunshine. The Egyptian, since joining our club last summer from Roma, has been in sensational form and added to his growing tally of goals with a fine strike against Porto last week.

The 25-year-old is in such fabulous form that one can place a bet on him scoring against West Ham at the weekend.

Adam Lallana was also seen going through the customary drills in order to return back to perfect shape. The midfielder has endured an injury-hit season with the Reds and now that he has returned to fitness, he will hope to play a major part in the remainder of the campaign.

The likes of Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Trend Alexander-Arnold and others were seen stretching and doing the usual exercises to maintain their fitness.

Firmino has been in blistering form this season and after Daniel Sturridge left the club last month to join West Brom on loan, the Brazilian has been tasked with a huge responsibility at least until the end of the season.

Club-record signing Virgil van Dijk was spotted enjoying the training session along with Alberto Moreno.

Meanwhile, the likes of Dominic Solanke, Danny Ings, Simon Mignolet and Joe Gomez were all missing from the training.
