The battle to sign Alisson is really heating up as Real Madrid have been linked with the Brazilian keeper. The AS Roma man has been one of the best players for the Serie A giants and is currently with the national side as they prepare for the World Cup in a few months time.

Liverpool are another club rumoured to be interested in the 25-year-old and it seems like the Brazilian has got the backing of a legend from the South American country.

Claudio Taffarel was speaking ahead of the clash between Brazil and Russia and the former keeper believes Alisson could become the best keeper in the world, even drawing comparison with Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon.

Speaking to Omnisport, Taffarel was quoted by the Mirror as saying:

“In the time that we worked with him at Internacional and with the national squad, we knew he would reach a high level.

“I’ll always respect the career of Buffon, who has been brilliant. But I believe that Alisson, as a goalkeeper, is more technical with a different posture.

“He always stands assertively and is confident in what he does. Alisson is really impressive. There is more time needed to see if he can reach the top or not, but he has the qualities to stay on top and become the best goalkeeper in the world, without doubt.”

The 25-year-old Roma star will captain the side that faces Russia and in all probability, will be looking to keep another clean sheet for the South American giants.

Alisson Is The Man Of The Moment

The Brazilian certainly is one of the best keepers in the world and it should come as no surprise that some are claiming he could get better in the coming years.

Being only 25 years old, Alisson has a lot of time on his hands and that seems to be one reason why a number of clubs are looking to lure him away from Roma.

We might not need a new keeper at the moment but if we can somehow seal the deal for the 25-year-old, it would be a major coup for us. However, with Roma feeling the burn over Mohamed Salah’s selling price, we might be out of the race for Alisson if Real or other big clubs start bidding huge amounts for him.
