According to Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos, only Premier League clubs will able to afford the Napoli midfielder in the summer.

The Italian international has been linked with a move to Anfield, with ideas that he could beef up Jurgen Klopp’s midfield options next season.

Manchester United and Manchester City have been also credited with an interest in Jorginho, with the player admitting that the Premier League would suit his style of play. (Daily Mail)

Joan Santos, Jorginho’s agent, has been candid about the midfielder’s future and has now revealed his wish to not put a release clause in any potential new contract.

However, the Liverpool ECHO understands that the representative believes only a top club could afford to lure Jorginho away from Naples in the summer, due to a supposed disagreement between him and Napoli.

“He’s being followed by big teams and that’s normal because he plays at the highest levels for Napoli, plus we’re talking about an international player now,” Santos told an Italian radio (h/t Liverpool ECHO).

“To date, no official offers have arrived. Future in England? He has a certain value for Napoli, a certain figure that almost only Premier League clubs can afford.

“Moreover, he can’t be sold to another club in Italy. Jorginho’s only thinking about Napoli and we must wait until the end of the season to make certain assessments.

“As for Napoli, we haven’t received a contract offer from them yet. Release clause? I don’t agree with them.

“Napoli want to set it at €100million, while we want it at €20million. It’s best to just not put one in.”

Due to Jorginho’s top displays for Napoli this season, the 26-year-old has already attracted a lot of interest from some of the big European clubs, with Liverpool facing a major challenge in signing the player.

Jorginho would be perfect for Klopp’s system. He would use his passing ability, intelligence, technique, movement and physical attributes to help work the ball forward but also win it back quickly.

The Brazilian-born Italy international is more disciplined and is technically better than our current crop of holding midfielders.
