Philippe Coutinho’s departure traumatized a lot of Liverpool fans across the world and it continues to be a touchy subject in the Reds’ camp.

While joining a club like Barcelona has undoubtedly worked wonders for his personal growth, one cannot help but resent the fact that he left us in the first place.

However, the tables seem to have turned to an extent as Liverpool have managed to qualify to the Champions League final whereas Barcelona crashed out in the earlier stages of the tournament.

Since Coutinho joined the Catalan giants only in January, he was not able to represent Barcelona in the elite European competition as he was cup-tied.

Now that we are in the final, we will either receive the runners-up medal or hopefully, the winner’s medal. In that case, it is the club’s decision as to whether or not Coutinho will be eligible for one but as per a report from Liverpool Echo, it looks like we have arrived at a verdict.

The report claims that the club’s officials have decided to award him a medal anyway, as a tribute to his contributions for the club in the initial half of the season.

Indeed, Coutinho was a key player for us and his level of commitment remained unaffected for a good majority of the recently concluded Premier League season. Hence, it is a generous move by the club to recognize his efforts and choose to give him the medal.
