Liverpool surprised one and all with the shock announcement of our second summer signing Fabinho and since then, the dust is refusing to settle down.

The former AS Monaco star was a key part of the French outfit’s scintillating title win in the 2016/17 season and he has proven his skills time and again in the Ligue 1. The 24-year-old is incredibly talented and versatile, which is further illustrated by the fact that he can play either as a right-back or as a defensive midfielder.

Fans across the world are delighted with the new arrival and according to an interview published by Liverpool’s official website, it looks like Fabinho shares the feeling.

When asked about the transfer, the Brazilian said:

“I am very happy. I am really excited about this move. This is something that I always wanted – this is a giant of a team.

“The infrastructures of the club look exceptional. I look forward to the time and the day I’ll put the shirt on and get on the pitch and see how the supporters welcome my arrival.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

With uncertainty surrounding Emre Can’s future at Anfield, it is indeed great to learn that Jurgen Klopp has secured a move for Fabinho. He boasts of experience along with a wide array of skills that will undoubtedly establish him as one of our key players next season.

The report goes on to claim that Fabinho has completed all the transfer formalities, meaning he is expected to move to Anfield in July.

When asked about his decision to join Liverpool, the player said that he was particularly impressed with the infrastructure and that we were one of the very few clubs to show interest in him from the very beginning. He also admitted that all the players have spoken quite highly about life on this side of Merseyside.

Well, the deal is truly a fantastic one and I cannot wait to see Fabinho in a Liverpool jersey.
