According to a report by Turkish news outlet Fotomac, Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge could be on his way to Besiktas this summer. Over the years, Sturridge has failed to reach his true potential and he currently finds himself quite low in the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp.

In such a situation, it would make sense for him to join a different club. At 28 years of age, the £120,000-a-week star is not getting any younger and to salvage his career, he must move to a team where he is likely to receive adequate first-team opportunities.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, our attacking trio up front is set. Sturridge can play either as a striker or as a winger but all those roles are occupied by the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Sturridge spent the latter half of the previous season on loan at West Bromwich Albion and while he could not save the Baggies from relegation, he did put in some decent displays. With a year left on his contract, it seems like this is the right time to sanction a move and allow him to leave Anfield.

Despite boasting of immense talent, Sturridge somehow never made it at Liverpool. But that does not mean it is the end of the road for him. A club like Besiktas will undoubtedly offer him a great chance to revive his career and the funds from his transfer would also help us in strengthening other areas of our squad this summer.
