Sadio Mane

Real Madrid have agreed to terms with Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, according to reports coming in from France. Mane, who scored 20 goals in all competitions for the Reds, formed a great understanding with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino this season as the trio demolished a number of defences.

However, Madrid are ready to break the partnership up as reports from France Football (h/t The Metro) claim that the Senegal international was going to be the first marquee signing for the La Liga side.

However, this deal has hit a roadblock due to the resignation of Zinedine Zidane. The French legend left the club after winning the Champions League final and the former France international had a large say in Madrid moving to sign the Liverpool star.

With Zidane gone, the transfer has been put on hold. It will now depend on what the new Real Madrid manager has to say about the Senegalese winger. The report also goes on to say that no transfer fee has been agreed with Liverpool.

Another season, another big name player leaving?

There were numerous rumours of Salah being the player that Real would try to sign this season but this has come right out of the blue. Mane might not have been as effective as he was in his debut season for us but he was a constant threat in the Champions League final and also got our only goal.

The 25-year-old must consider what is at stake should he move to Madrid as there is no guarantee he would start ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

With Liverpool not having agreed to a deal with Madrid, the ball is in our court and hopefully, we can keep Mane for next season and longer.
