Daniel Sturridge

Turkish giants Besiktas could offer Daniel Sturridge a way out of Liverpool, according to Turkish Football (h/t Football.london).

The 28-year-old English striker had to deal with another injury-hit season and he was even loaned out to West Bromwich Albion in the winter window.

However, Sturridge only started seven games in all competitions last year and scored just thrice, with all his goals coming for Liverpool.

The report claims that the Besiktas supporters have been aggressive with a new ‘Come to Besiktas’ campaign to bring Sturridge to Istanbul. The club’s officials are now weighing up if they should move for the English striker or not.

The report also goes on to say that Rafael Benitez is also interested in the 28-year-old and could make a move to take the former Chelsea star to Newcastle.

Time up for Sturridge at Anfield

Sturridge was one of the most lethal strikers in the game when he was fit. Unfortunately, those days seem to be gone as he has consistently been out injured during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure at Anfield.

If we cannot play Sturridge or are unsure about his fitness, it should come as a no-brainer that the Englishman should leave the club.

We won’t be getting a lot of money from the sale, however, it would be better for Sturridge to move away from England and try to resurrect his career in another league.

The 28-year-old had a lot of potential and did enjoy a great 2013-14 season where we also almost won the title as Sturridge scored 21 goals in 29 league games.

However, it looks his time at Anfield has surely come to an end and let’s hope he can enjoy his football at another club.
