Xherdan Shaqiri has opened up about a move away from Stoke City and says that he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Shaqiri’s Stoke were relegated from the Premier League last season and the Swiss attacker has been linked with a move to Liverpool but Manchester United are also interested in the former Inter Milan player. He was quoted by the Express as saying,

“I want to stay in the Premier League, and you will find out my new club soon”.

The 26-year-old would be one of the bargain signings of the summer as he would be available for a fee of just £12m due to a relegation clause in his Stoke contract.

Shaqiri did play for his nation in the World Cup and recorded a goal and an assist but could not stop them from crashing out against Sweden when they lost 1-0.

The Swiss winger would be a great addition to the Liverpool side as he can play in a number of positions and even for a struggling Stoke side, the 26-year-old scored 8 goals and provided 7 assists in the Premier League.

While Shaqiri remains coy about which club he might join, if he does move to any other side in the Premier League, it would be a huge blow for us.

We might not be able to guarantee Shaqiri a lot of playing time due to the competition in the attack but we do play a brand of football where we would deploy the Swiss star perfectly.
