With Alisson’s arrival from AS Roma, Karius would not be our No.1 keeper going into the season and that could be a reason why the player is considering his future at the club. Jurgen Klopp is open to selling Karius and Simon Mignolet, with Alisson coming into the side.
The report claims that Klopp was also impressed by young keepers Caoimhin Kelleher and Kamil Grabara during the pre-season.
Karius’ future was always a major doubt after his performance in the Champions League final against Real Madrid. His two mistakes cost the team a couple of goals as we lost 3-1. And there has been a constant spotlight on the 25-year-old.
Every minor error of his have been magnified and maybe a move away from England is the right step for the German.
Hey, @bayer04_en wants Karius & I want Brandt.
Let’s talk #LFC

I heard a rumour that Bayer Leverkusen were interested in Karius after selling Leno to Arsenal. Sounds like it could happen now. Would be a good move for him. The fresh start he needs.

I’ll drive him. pic.twitter.com/FU6IVjxHNz

Should have kept Danny Ward

I’d keep Karius as back up. Ideally we should have kept Ward as our no.2 and then sold both Karius and Mignolet.

Seriously need an experienced back up

Absolutely zero chance we’re going into the season with Grabara and Kelleher 2nd and third choice. I’d be very surprised if Karius leaves

Karius should go to Leverkusen. Good move for him and they have several players I’m sure LFC would rate

Going back to Germany could be good for Karius. Needs to go under the radar imo.

Selling Karius and Mignolet to have Grabara as your back-up. Someone give Jurgen’s head a wobble. #LFC
