Arsenal legend Robert Pires has claimed that Lyon’s Nabil Fekir would be a great signing for Liverpool while speaking to bwin (h/t Metro).
The Frenchman also said he was not sure why the deal broke down as we looked confident of signing him before the World Cup, but added that Fekir would be a “fit” for the Premier League too.
“Fekir would be a good fit for the Premier League and a great signing for Liverpool.
“I don’t know why the deal broke down at the medical earlier this summer, but Fekir is a great player and would be a good signing for Liverpool.”
Fekir did play in all but one of France’s matches in their triumphant World Cup campaign but he was mainly used as a substitute.
Nabil FekirLiverpool have since signed Alisson and Xherdan Shaqiri but we have not brought in another player who can perform in the same position as the Frenchman.
While the Swiss star can play in midfield, having someone like Fekir would provide us with another dimension in our attack.

I feel that we would not make more signings this summer but we must go back for Fekir in the winter window or next summer.
