Steven Gerrard has taken over as Rangers boss

Steven Gerrard has had a decent start to his career as Rangers manager and has made a number of signings from Liverpool.

Ovie Ejaria, Ryan Kent and Jon Flanagan all moved to the Scottish giants and the Daily Star reports that the former Liverpool captain is looking for another striker at the club.

The transfer window for the Premier League has closed but Scottish clubs can sign players until the end of the month.

Gerrard was speaking at the press conference ahead of the clash against St. Mirren and he added that there is no clarity on Dominic Solanke joining Rangers.

“It’s speculation, it’s just speculation”, Gerrard was quoted by the Daily Star as saying.

Dominic Solanke

However, the former Liverpool midfielder was open to taking advantage of the fact that he could look to sign players left out by their Premier League sides.

Liverpool have Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge as their options in the attack while Solanke could do a job from the bench.

However, the Reds also have Divock Origi on their team and with Danny Ings sealing a move to Southampton on deadline day (h/t Sky Sports), Klopp could decide to keep Solanke in the side, according to the Daily Star.

Solanke did do alright for us last season as he played 27 games, most of them from the bench. The youngster would find it hard to get many starts for us this season and a move to Ibrox would not be a bad decision for the English striker.
