James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo claims that no discussions have taken place between the club and Andy Robertson over a contract extension.

The Scottish left-back was in great form in our 4-0 win over West Ham and there was speculation (h/t Liverpool Echo) that the 24-year-old is in line for a new contract at Anfield.

The report adds that Robertson’s current deal is “heavily incentivised” and his “consistency and development” would be rewarded without the need for a new deal.

The report further adds that discussions over a new deal could take place next summer. However, Robertson still has four years (h/t Liverpool Echo) on his current deal.

The Scot has been one of our more consistent players since making the switch from Hull City and capturing him for £10million (h/t Liverpool Echo) was an incredible deal for the Reds.

The youngster has gotten better with each game under his belt and has quickly established himself as our No.1 left-back, replacing Alberto Moreno.

The former Hull City player isn’t the quickest of left-backs but his endless energy and crossing ability have helped him fit into the Liverpool side well.

Robertson has the tools to become one of the best in the world. Should he continue developing under Jurgen Klopp, the Scot could easily turn into an Anfield legend.
