Roberto Firmino is close to becoming the leading Brazilian scorer in the Premier League, as per the Mirror.

The Liverpool star scored 27 goals in all competitions for the Reds last time around and bagged 15 in the Premier League alone.

Firmino’s first season saw him score 10 times and the former Hoffenheim striker added 11 more Premier League goals in his second season with the Reds.

The 26-year-old is second on the list behind ex-Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who signed for Barcelona last season.

Firmino is ahead of other stars such as Willian and Gabriel Jesus while former player Juninho is also a part of the top five.

Coutinho has 41 goals to his name while Firmino is on 36. From the list of active Brazilians in the Premier League, Willian is on 25 and Jesus is on 21, as per the Mirror.

Firmino didn’t score in our opening two games of the season but he certainly played his part in both victories. The Brazilian is known for his incredible energy and work rate, and the goals should come soon.

The next battle for Liverpool is up against Brighton & Hove Albion. If the Reds play like they have done in the opening games, an easy win is on the cards and possibly, a goal for Firmino too.
