Sadio Mane has started the season in blistering form with three goals in two games. The Senegal international bagged a brace in our opening Premier League clash and scored in our 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The former Southampton man was overshadowed by Mohamed Salah’s debut campaign for the Reds last season but he seems to be a different player now.

Jurgen Klopp believes that Mane can still get better and the German was quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying:

“He’s a footballer so he has things he can improve much more. Can he be quicker? Yes. Can he improve his left foot? A little. His right? Probably not.

“He’s a player and we wanted him because of the skills he had and he is already more consistent than he was in the past.

“If he keeps that it’s an absolute dream for each coach.”

The German was speaking in the press conference prior to our match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Klopp also gave a cheeky response to a question about Mane getting a new contract at the Reds.

The manager claimed that Mane’s consistency is great but no one knew how good he would be when he joined from Southampton.

Klopp added that Dejan Lovren would not be a part of the team facing Brighton and didn’t speak much about Loris Karius’ possible move to Besiktas.

The German also praised James Milner’s quality and claimed that his age is not an issue for the side.

“He played full-back and now he plays a midfield role. Milly’s age is no issue. He’s a natural and skilled sports guy. He can do every sport he tries. Age is no problem.”

The Liverpool manager finished the conference by praising Alisson and added that the Brazilian’s English is pretty good.
