Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has claimed that a chat with Jurgen Klopp was important in helping him join the Reds.

ESPN claims that Chelsea and Real Madrid were interested in the 25-year-old but Alisson was a long-term target for the Reds.

The former Roma keeper was quoted by ESPN as saying:

“The chat I had with him [before joining Liverpool] is one of the things that left me more calm.

“He showed his interest in having me, not only the club’s interest but also his. It was a long interview despite my staggered English, but we understood each other well.

“He told me about how he works, how I would fit into the squad, how I also could grow personally here. He told me a little bit about the project — a project with a winning mindset.”

The Brazilian has started his life at Liverpool with three clean sheets from three games and he heaped praises upon the fans, players and the club.

The former AS Roma man spoke about how tough the Premier League is and claimed that our clash against Tottenham Hotspur after the international break would be a “decisive match”.

Alisson praised Jurgen Klopp’s management and added that a lot of preparation is done throughout the week.

“He prepares the game in a very precise way during the week, placing all players on the pitch to make us aware of what we are going to find on the pitch [during the game] and also giving resources about the offensive and defensive movements.”

The Brazilian has done well since joining the Reds but as stated earlier, tougher games will come thick and fast for Liverpool.
