Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Mohamed Salah has the confidence to score more goals this season.
The Egyptian has bagged a couple of goals from the four Premier League games so far and Klopp added that Salah doesn’t have a fixed target for this term.
The German was quoted by the Mirror as saying:
“Mo is a very smart person. He’s not thinking about the end of last season, he knows our game here, he knows he had no number in his mind or thought, ‘OK, let me score a new record’
“It was only ever, ‘Let’s score goals. Let’s play football’. And to me he looks like he is exactly in that mood again… only with more confidence, because now he knows it’s possible.
“But that is the only change. We need him to score goals but not overly. And that’s how it looks from him.”
Salah, who was signed for £36.9m last summer, was the top scorer in the Premier League in the previous campaign, taking us all the way to the Champions League final.
The clash with Real Madrid didn’t go as planned for the Egyptian as he was taken off after 30 minutes or so.
However, the Reds have a great chance of picking up a trophy this season and hopefully, Salah can lead the way with his goals.
Liverpool have a number of attacking options and even if Salah has an off game, someone else could take up the scoring responsibility.
