Liverpool need to deal with selfishness from two stars this season

Although Liverpool won their tough encounter against Tottenham 2-1, there was plenty to mull over after the game.

Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino were excellent but we should have destroyed Tottenham with the umpteen chances we had to finish the home side.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were the main culprits after missing a host of chances and there were moments where one player could have played the other through.

Jurgen Klopp also cut a frustrated figure at Wembley as we let a number of chances go and some Liverpool fans were ready to play the blame game for the lack of goals.

Mane did have a couple of quality chances to score but the shots either went straight at Michel Vorm or he simply missed the target.

The same could be said about Salah too, as the Egyptian had numerous chances but it hit the keeper. Furthermore, it looked like he overdid his tricks and lost opportunities to score.

There isn’t anything wrong with being selfish but the team has to come first. Scoring goals is important for any attacker but that should not hurt the team in the long run.

Liverpool were a tad fortunate that they did not give away a penalty when Mane clipped Son Heung-min.

Klopp must certainly have a word with the attack as we aren’t converting the chances well. The last thing we would want is to lose a game because of a poor show in front of the goal.
