Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool

Liverpool’s clash against Napoli on Wednesday is Jurgen Klopp’s 50th Champions League game and the Reds must be aiming to pick up all three points in Italy.

The German lead us to the final last season and achieved the same with Borussia Dortmund a few years ago.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t win the prize and Dortmund too missed out on the trophy as they were beaten by Bayern Munich.

The German has turned us into a free-scoring team and as we prepare for the big clash, UEFA shared some interesting stats regarding the 50 games Klopp has managed.

Italian concerns for Klopp

  1. Klopp has only lost two games with Liverpool in the Champions League and one of them was the final against Real Madrid.
  2. The German has lost all three Champions League games in Italy while in charge of Liverpool and Dortmund.
  3. The former Dortmund manager hasn’t lost a European game in October with six wins and three draws in all competitions.
  4. The German’s win percentage is 57% with the Reds and 45.7% with Dortmund.
  5. Robert Lewandowski has scored the most goals in the Champions League under Klopp with 14 but Roberto Firmino and Marco Reus are second on 11 with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane third on 10.
  6. The German’s sides have scored 102 goals in 49 games which is 2.08 goals per game.

Liverpool should come into the game with a lot of confidence after their battling draw against Chelsea at the weekend. However, we have to be careful of Napoli as the Italians are quality and could harm us if we take them lightly.
