Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno has emerged as a January target for Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Mirror).
The report adds that Moreno has been linked with the Catalans previously, but Barca are ready to make a move soon.
Barcelona are desperate to provide competition to their first-choice Jordi Alba after allowing Lucas Digne to join Everton at the start of the season.
The former Sevilla defender has one start to his name this season, which came in the 2-1 Carabao Cup loss against Chelsea.
Moreno’s chances in the first-team will be limited due to the form of Andy Robertson. The Scot took over from the Spaniard last season and hasn’t looked back with a string of impressive performances.
The report adds that the Spaniard could be open to a move to the La Liga champions. Barcelona are tracking other defenders too with Jose Gaya of Valencia and Juan Bernat of Bayern Munich on their radar.
Liverpool need cover at the back
Although Moreno wouldn’t feature regularly in the team, the Spaniard provides us with cover for Robertson.
Liverpool do not have another senior left-back in their squad, however, James Milner could step up if needed.
The Englishman has been brilliant in the midfield this season but is currently out with a hamstring injury.

Moreno isn’t the most reliable defender in the world, but we need him until we have a back-up for Robertson.
