Alberto Moreno

Out-of-favour Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno is being eyed by Premier League rivals, Arsenal. The Spaniard has just 8 months left on his Anfield contract and could leave the club on a free transfer, which has alerted some European clubs, including Arsenal, according to the Mirror.

Moreno is not Jurgen Klopp’s first choice since Andrew Robertson is performing extremely well. Ever since the Scot arrived at Anfield, it has been a downfall for Alberto Moreno.

The 26-year-old arrived at Liverpool with a lot of promise but he hasn’t managed to fulfil it. However, a move away from Anfield could work for the defender.

It was under Unai Emery that Moreno first made a name for himself, earning a call-up to Spain’s senior squad and making his debut in a World Cup qualifier against Georgia.

Unai Emery was the manager of Sevilla on the night when Moreno endured a horror outing in the Europa League final in 2016.

Whether it makes sense to the Gunners is a different story, it is better if we offload the Spanish full-back. He has not delivered the goods for us and we look so comfortable and threatening with Robertson playing at left-back. Moreno has been error-prone and he has not been able to solve this problem.

Maybe, a change of environment is all he needs but Liverpool cannot waste any more time on the 26-year-old. Parting ways is the best solution for both the club and the player.
