Paul Merson has asked Liverpool to sign Aaron Ramsey and boost their chances of winning the Premier League.
The Welsh midfielder is a free agent at the end of the season, and Merson was critical of the club’s decision to let the 27-year-old leave.
The pundit was writing in his column for the Daily Star as he believed the Welshman could make the Reds a stronger team.
“It makes no financial sense to lose him on a free so they might as well sell him for whatever they can get now in January.
“If Liverpool want him they might as well do a deal now. He would fit in there and he would help them challenge for the title.
“Manchester City are a much stronger, deeper team than Liverpool at the moment, but Ramsey could help change that.”
The former Cardiff City player has just one goal and three assists from 10 Premier League games, and Liverpool will get a first-hand look at the midfielder when they face the Gunners at the Emirates on Saturday.
Merson added that the Welsh midfielder can run, pass, score and is a very good player. Liverpool don’t have many options for an attacking midfielder, and it would not be the worst deal in the world if sign Ramsey.

Klopp signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal at the start of last season, and getting Ramsey would certainly make our side stronger as we look to keep up the challenge for the Premier League title.
