Liverpool had a terrible outing in their Champions League tie against Red Star Belgrade. The Reds looked out of sorts as the home side ran out 2-0 winners, severely damaging our chances of making it into the next round.
This was the third consecutive away loss for us in the Champions League, dating back to last season, and we were poor in the tie.
The home side scored via Milan Pavkov and the Reds just could not break down the Red Star defence.
Our midfield was poor and our attack was just as bad, however, some Liverpool fans were upset with the performance of one man in particular.
Sadio Mane didn’t have a great game on the left side of the attack in the first half. He was shifted to the right in the second and seemed to give the ball away easily.
Although Mohamed Salah, Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino all were terrible, the former Southampton player seemed to get a lot of criticism after this poor showing.
Mane was absolutely shocking, Salah at least tried and put a few shots on target Mane couldn’t complete a 2 yard pass.

What an absolute shambles! What did we really expect with Matip and Lallana? Mane and Milner extremely poor only decent player was Salah, also don’t really understand why Keita and Fabinho were left on the bench? They were bought to improve our midfield or am I wrong?
