One of Liverpool’s title rivals, Chelsea, could be hit by a two-year transfer ban, according to the Times (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The report claims that Chelsea have been recommended a ban at every level for four transfer windows. The Stamford Bridge club, along with four others are being looked at by FIFA, and the report adds that the Blues are being investigated regarding 19 signings, 14 of which were for U18 players.

Chelsea signed some impressive names in the last two years with N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Kepa Arrizabalaga joining for huge sums.

A source was quoted (h/t Liverpool Echo) saying:

“This a massive investigation that will implicate a number of clubs.

“It will touch most of the big clubs around Europe and in the Premier League.”

The ban could have major implications for the clubs involved, and hopefully, we aren’t included in the list of four Premier League teams being checked into.

We have seen what kind of impact it has for other clubs with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid having been hit by similar bans in recent seasons.

Liverpool and Chelsea are two of the unbeaten teams in the Premier League this season, and we played out an incredible 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge a few weeks ago.
