Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes the Premier League title will be decided on fine margins but claims the Reds will lift their first title in almost 30 years.

The Reds hold a four-point lead over Manchester City ahead of the midweek fixtures, and Murphy shared his views and claimed the Reds have a steeliness about them.

Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace, thanks to a 4-3 win, and Murphy added that the Reds aren’t playing great but they are getting the job done.

The former midfielder highlighted the Merseyside derby and a couple of shock results against Manchester City too (h/t Daily Star):

“In a title race that I believe is going to be settled on very thin margins, you can’t ignore the fact that Liverpool have benefited from Riyad Mahrez missing a penalty for City at Anfield and Jordan Pickford throwing one in at the end of the Merseyside derby.

“These little things have an effect and City have found themselves behind because Andros Townsend and Ricardo Pereira scored goal-of-the-season contenders against them in consecutive weeks.”

The Daily Star adds that Murphy sees the Reds finish the season on top by just a single point even if we lose to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

City, on the other hand, will stay undefeated for the rest of the season but will drop points against in draws against Everton and Crystal Palace, according to Murphy. Liverpool have to win every game they can, and our next clash is against an unpredictable Leicester City side.

City play before we do in the midweek, and could cut the gap to one-point before we face the Foxes.
