Jurgen Klopp has tried to allay fears of being nervous in the title race. The German has a history of winning the league with Borussia Dortmund and claimed he wasn’t nervous before his first league triumph.

Liverpool hold a five-point lead going into the game against West Ham but could see that reduce to two should City win against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Reds play a tough West Ham side away, however, Klopp admitted he wasn’t a nervous person (h/t Mirror):

“I am not a nervous person, so I was never nervous before the first title. That’s how it is. Yes, experience showed me that the way I did it in the past worked. So, I didn’t change.”

The German added that they had to play to sort out this problem and claimed there would be pressure on the team, similar to previous seasons.

Klopp believed that there are doubts about Liverpool’s title-winning ability given that we haven’t picked up the crown for 29 years, and that was not the case at Manchester City.

The manager added that several fans want the Reds to win but could not guarantee the title coming to Anfield:

“The people are really desperate. Is that positive? They really want it, with all they have. But there are no guarantees and, again, I am not a nervous person.”

Liverpool have it all to do but they are in the driving seat. Memories of 2013-14 keep coming back as we missed out on the title to Manchester City under Brendan Rodgers.

However, Klopp knows what it takes to win the title, as he has done it before against a tough Bayern Munich side. This is a similar story again and hopefully, we end up celebrating winning the Premier League at the end of the season.
