Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards attended the Hertha Berlin-Bayern Munich DFB Pokal game a couple of days ago. Bild (h/t Metro) claims the Liverpool man was present at the clash, along with a few scouts, as Bayern came through the game with a 3-2 win.

The report adds that Edwards was present to speak with Hertha about Marko Grujic. The Serbian midfielder has impressed for the Bundesliga side this season, and his loan deal ends in the summer. The Bundesliga side want to extend the deal for the 22-year-old and Edwards seems to have spoken with Michael Preetz regarding the Serbian midfielder.

The report adds that although Hertha want the 22-year-old to remain, Liverpool want to send the Serbian to another European league next season. The Reds are reluctant to make any loan deal that includes an option to buy as they believe Grujic has a future at the club, according to the report.

Grujic certainly is doing a great job at Hertha, and he seems to be someone that could come good for us in the coming seasons.

It is interesting to see that we are planning to send him out for another loan spell but keeping him or testing him in the Premier League would be a better option.

Grujic could get accustomed to the style if he was sent on loan to another Premier League club, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up at the start of next season.
