Virgil van Dijk is one of the best defenders in the world. The Dutchman joined Liverpool from Southampton over a year ago and has gone from strength to strength under Jurgen Klopp.
It comes as no surprise that our defence has become better after the arrival of the former Celtic star, and we do have the best defence in the Premier League this season.
That base has helped us mount a title charge, and with Van Dijk being one of the best, the Liverpool supporters have their own song for the 27-year-old.
The song goes like this:
“He’s our centre-half, he’s our number four, watch him defend and we watch him score. He can pass the ball, calm as you like. He’s Virgil van Dijk. He’s Virgil van Dijk!”
While the Dutch defender hasn’t scored plenty of goals, he can defend really well. Recently, Jamie Carragher also got into the act and was caught singing the song on stage.

The Liverpool legend doesn’t have the greatest voice but he does a decent job of the song. The funny part of the video is watching a supporter come on stage to join them, and he wasn’t wearing much.
Liverpool knocked it out of the park by signing Van Dijk, and the defender is already considered as one of the best to have played for the Reds in recent years.
