Latest Liverpool news: Virgil van Dijk believes goal against Bayern could be his most important yet for club

Virgil van Dijk had another night to remember for Liverpool as he helped the Reds qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Dutch defender scored in our 3-1 win over Bayern Munich and also kept the German’s in check.

Robert Lewandowski barely had a shot on our goal while Van Dijk won almost every battle against the Bundesliga giants.

James Milner and Van Dijk were speaking to BT Sport after the game, and amongst other things, the Dutch defender was asked about his most important goal for the Reds.

Van Dijk has hurt Germany before

The Dutchman spoke about him scoring for the Netherlands against Germany but claimed this could have been his most important goal for the Reds.

The defender scored a brace in our win over Watford too and seems to be doing the stuff on the other end of the pitch.

Liverpool have one of the best defences in Europe, and Van Dijk is one reason why we are challenging for the top titles this season.

The 27-year-old will get better with more time at the Reds, and he is already considered as one of the best defenders in the world.
